Building materials Minibooks: Houses around the world

Our little minibooks about building materials are great!  We had great fun writing and illustrating them.  Rafael noticed that we were not only learning about materials but also about different countries and houses around the world.  You can watch this video about houses in different cultures.

Hemos escrito e ilustrado minibooks sobre materiales de construcción.  Rafael se dio cuenta de que no sólo estábamos aprendiendo sobre materiales, sino que también los hemos relacionado con distintos países y culturas y las diferentes viviendas que se construyen allí.  Puedes ver este video acerca de casas del mundo.

Year 2: Materials

We now know quite a lot about materials and their properties.  We have made some posters in groups and classified the materials according to their characteristics: hard/soft, elastic and flexible / rigid, resistant/fragile, transparent/opaque, waterproof/permeable.  As you can all see, we are learning a lot of science... And our scientific vocabulary in English is also coming along quite nicely!!

Sabemos ya bastante sobre los materiales y sus propiedades.  Hemos elaborado posters y clasificado los materiales de acuerdo con sus características: duro/blando, elástico y flexible/rígido, resistente/frágil, transparente/opaco, permeable/impermeable.  Como podéis ver, estamos aprendiendo mucha ciencia, y además nuestro vocabulario científico en inglés ¡es cada vez más amplio!

Investigating materials in Year 2

Thank you to all of you in Year 2A!  We started a new project on Matter and Energy yesterday, and it's great to see you all so involved on our investigations already.  Today the children in Year 2B have started the project and I'm looking forward to classifying some materials with them tomorrow.  Here are some pics!!

Comenzamos un nuevo proyecto sobre Materia y Energía ayer, y ha sido estupendo ver lo interesados que estabais en la investigación de hoy.  Los chic@s de 2ºB también han empezado el proyecto, y estoy deseando de ver cómo clasifican los materiales que van a traer mañana.  ¡Aquí van algunas fotos de nuestra sesión de hoy!
