Homework Year 3

Hi everyone!
I knew you wouldn't let me down with your investigations about salt water lakes.  Your work is fantastic and I have learnt a lot this morning.  We have found out that there are indeed lakes that have salt water and that there are salt water rivers too.  Sometimes these lakes have more salt than the water in the sea.  Next week we will be publishing all our findings.

This weekend, please read and study about rivers and do the three exercises in the Working with the picture box.  Use the Spanish Social Science book (pages 52/53).

Sabía que no me decepcionaríais con vuestra investigaciones sobre los lagos de agua salada.  Vuestro trabajo es fantástico y he aprendido mucho esta mañana.  Hemos descubierto que realmente sí existen los lagos de agua salada y que también hay ríos salados.  Algunas veces estos lagos tienen más cantidad de sal que el agua del mar.  La próxima semana publicaremos lo que hemos descubierto.

Este fin de semana, por favor leed y estudiad la parte sobre los ríos y haced los ejercicios de la sección "Trabaja con la Imagen" del libro de Ciencias Sociales en español (páginas 52/53).

Animals posters (Year 3)

Your investigations about animals, mainly penguins, are absolutely wonderful! I've already seen some examples of good investigations about salt water lakes and I'm sure I'll see many more!! Tomorrow we will be making a wall display with our findings.

Vuestras investigaciones sobre animales, especialmente pingüinos, son estupendas.  Ya he visto algunos ejemplos de buenas investigaciones sobre los lagos de agua salada y estoy segura de que mañana veremos más!  Empezaremos a hacer un muro en el pasillo del cole con lo que traigáis.

Hello kiddies!!

There is a lot of work going on in our lessons and I'm very glad to see that many of you are doing a lot of extra work at home to bring to school and share with us.  It's great you do that because your work inspire other classmates and it also inspires me!!!  I'm very grateful for that and I will say that I enjoy enormously learning with you!

For Friday 4th I would like you to work on your investigation about salt water lakes and do the exercises 1, 2 (page 55)  of the Spanish Social Science book about the uses of water.

Estáis trabajando mucho en clase y me alegra ver que también hacéis trabajos en casa que traéis al cole y compartís con los demás.  Es excelente que hacías estas cosas porque vuestro trabajo inspira a  los compañeros de clase y también me inspira a mi.  Os doy las gracias por ello y os diré que disfruto enormemente aprendiendo con vosotros.

Para el viernes 4 de marzo debéis de traer vuestra contribución a la investigación colectiva sobre lagos de agua salada, y hacer los ejercicios 1 y 2 (página 55) sobre los usos del agua del libro de Ciencias Sociales en español.

Investigation Year 3: Salt water lakes

Lakes usually have fresh water so, do you know if there are any salt water lakes in the world???
You have until Friday 4th March to find out.

Cuando pensamos en un lago, solemos asumir que tiene agua dulce.   ¿Existen lagos de agua salada en alguna parte del mundo? Tenéis hasta el viernes 4 de marzo para averiguarlo.

Hello Year 1!

Our Year 1 classes are also working on a project about animals.  Look at what they are doing!
They have been classifying animals into domestic and wild.

Nuestros alumn@s de 1º también están trabajando en un proyecto sobre animales.  ¡Mirad todo lo que están haciendo!  Han clasificado animales domésticos y salvajes, y...

 

And they have also made beautiful posters of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish.

Chess and bloggers in Year 2B

Thank you Ivan from bringing your chess trophy to show us! Ivan has just won the the provincial under 8s chess competition and now he is preparing to compete for the Andalusian trophy. Congratulations!!

Wonderful work in Year 2A

My children in Year 2A have been very busy!!!

Alfonso wrote about the water cycle in Spanish without any help, and reads us his work.  Raúl explains what he knows about the cycle using a model he made at home.  And our first readers feel quite confident to show everyone what they can do in English.

Andalusian Recipes

Our Year 3 classes have been writing recipes of delicious Andalusian food.  First they did some research and asked their parents and grandparents about traditional dishes. Then they all wrote the recipes both in Spanish and English.   Now their work is decorating our school walls and soon we will be making a book which will be kept in the bilingual class library!

Nuestros alumno@s de 3º han escrito recetas de comidas típicas andaluzas.  Primero investigaron un poco y preguntaron a sus padres y abuelos sobre los platos más tradicionales.  Después escribieron sus recetas en español y en inglés.  Todos los trabajos están ahora decorando los pasillos del colegio y pronto haremos un libro de cocina para nuestra biblioteca en el aula bilingüe.

Water cycle minibooks

We have been making little books about the water cycle.  We thought about the front cover and we now know that a good front cover has a title with attractive letters, a picture, and the name of the person who wrote the book: the author.

Hemos estado elaborando pequeños libritos sobre el ciclo del agua.  Pensamos sobre la portada y ahora sabemos que una buena portada debe tener un título con letras atractivas, una imagen y el nombre del autor, que es el que escribe el libro.

We have been reading them with Miss Hind.  Our reading in English is coming along nicely!

Year 2 Class Diaries

We are now keeping a class diary in the Year 2 classes.  Everybody wants to take it home and tell about our daily news.  We just have to be very patient because we will all take it in the end.

Ya tenemos un diario en 2º.  Todos queremos llevarlo a casa y contar nuestras noticias.  Tenemos que ser pacientes porque al final todos tendremos la oportunidad de llevarlo.
