Homework Year 2: Solar System Minibook

Hello Kids in Yr2!
This weekend you have to illustrate your minibook and practise your reading.  Don't forget to draw the Solar System in the double page and write the names of the planets.

Este fin de semana tenéis que ilustrar el librito que hicimos ayer y practicar la lectura.  No os olvidéis de dibujar el Sistema Solar en la página doble, y de escribir los nombres de los planetas.

Drawing fish in Year 1

We are studying fish and today we have been drawing some tropical ones.  They have beautiful colours.

Story: Meg's Castle

We are working on this story in the Infants.  Meg the witch, Mog the Cat and Owl are great fun.  In this story they visit a castle.

Estamos trabajando este cuento en Infantil.  La Brujita Meg, el Gato Mog y el Buho son muy divertidos.  En esta historia visitan un castillo.

 

Looking at the stars

Antonio Herrera, Amparo´s dad, came to talk to us about the stars we see in the sky at night.  He explained that a long time ago stars orientated people and also told them when to plant their crops.  Stars form constellations.  In the past people imagined the stars made up shapes in the night sky.  These imagined pictures were given names like Ursa Major, Pegasus, Orion and Draco.

It was great fun to see all the constellations on our class ceiling as Antonio used his special projector.

Antonio, el papa de Amparo de 2ºA, ha venido hoy a hablarnos de las estrellas.  Nos ha explicado que hace mucho tiempo las personas se orientaban usando las estrellas y estas también les indicaban cuando era el tiempo de plantar las cosechas.  En el pasado la gente imaginaba que las estrellas formaban figuras en el cielo nocturno.  Estas figuras son las constelaciones:  Algunas son la Osa Mayor, Pegaso, Orión y Dragón.

Ha sido muy divertido ver las constelaciones en el techo de la clase gracias a un proyector especial que ha traído Antonio.  ¡Muchas gracias! ¡Hemos aprendido mucho!
